En kort tid senare besl\u00f6ts att \u00e4ven bygga en tv\u00e4rg\u00e5ende f\u00f6rbindelse fr\u00e5n Hoting f\u00f6r att underl\u00e4tta transporter av skogsprodukter direkt ut till kusten via \u00c5dalen. Anslutningspunkten kom att bli Forsmo p\u00e5 Stambanan genom \u00f6vre Norrland. Mellan Forsmo och Hoting anlades 16 trafikplatser. Den naturliga start- och \u00e4ndpunkten f\u00f6r banans t\u00e5g har dock fr\u00e5n b\u00f6rjan varit j\u00e4rnv\u00e4gsknuten L\u00e5ngsele 15 kilometer s\u00f6der om Forsmo. \u00c5r 1925 stod banan klar och \u00f6ppnades f\u00f6r b\u00e5de person- och godstrafik.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201dDen 1 december 1925 r\u00e5der inga tveksamheter. Sj\u00e4lvaste kung Gustav V har tagit sig upp till \u00c5dalen och \u00e5ker jungfruresa p\u00e5 Forsmo- Hotingbanan. I R\u00f6\u00e5n r\u00e5der 30-gradig kyla men givetvis \u00e4r det \u00e4nd\u00e5 fullt med folk p\u00e5 stationen.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>F\u00f6r \u00e5ldermannen Jacke Danielsson blir det en stor dag. Han \u00e4r den ur folkhopen som f\u00e5r kliva fram och skaka hand med monarken uppe p\u00e5 plattformen. \u00d6vriga bybor st\u00e5r i stram givakt. Kungen upptr\u00e4der s\u00e5 kamratligt att Jacke sl\u00e4pper loss. Med hundskinnshandsken pekar han bort \u00f6ver sn\u00f6f\u00e4lten mot en gr\u00e5 backstuga vid skogsranden och f\u00f6rkunnar stolt \u201cI \u00b4n d\u00e4nn stuga, som syns v\u00e4st i backen, d\u00e4r borta bor j\u00e4g!\u201d Och majest\u00e4tet s\u00e5g ut att vara minst lika stolt \u00f6ver torparens borg som torparen sj\u00e4lv<strong>\u201d(<\/strong><\/em><strong>ur<\/strong> <strong>R\u00f6\u00e5borna. Persontrafiken b\u00f6rjade utg\u00f6ras av r\u00e4lsbussar fr\u00e5n 30-talet, f\u00f6rst den klassiska Hilding Carlsson-bussen och p\u00e5 50-talet den lika klassiska Y6-typen. 1980 gick den f\u00f6rsta turen med Y1-motorvagn, som sedan anv\u00e4ndes i persontrafiken de sista \u00e5ren fram till dess nedl\u00e4ggning 1985. Godst\u00e5gen b\u00f6rjade dras av diesellok p\u00e5 50-talet och d\u00e5 fr\u00e4mst typ T21. Sedan banan rustats upp och bl a f\u00e5tt h\u00f6gre axellast kom T43 och T44 att anv\u00e4ndas.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Trafik<\/p>\n<p>Ingen ordinarie persontrafik f\u00f6rekommer. Godstrafiken utg\u00f6rs fr\u00e4mst av timmert\u00e5g fr\u00e5n terminalen i Hoting. T\u00e5gen k\u00f6rs sedan 2007 av Hector Rail och dras normalt av ett modernt diesellok typ 941.\u201d(www.
